At the end of February we had the Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet. This is the time when most children get to move up in rank and are recognized for their accomplishments. So most of you may know that sort of by default I became the Den mom for Jace's Cub Scout Den. No one else wanted to do it, if I didn't step up the boys couldn't have had the experience. Jace has been talking about being a Scout since he was 4 I couldn't let him down. So that's right I added one more thing to my list of "things to do." Now here's the cool thing. We got to choose our number just randomly. I asked Jace what number he wanted to be and he chose 5. While getting ready for the Pine Wood Derby, Mark found some of his Scout items. Get this, guess what Den he was? Seriously, Den 5. Gave me chills. Although I seem to be the only one that thinks this is just the coolest thing since Dove chocolate. Okay, sorry so refocus. The Blue and Gold Banquet was wonderful. I am proud to say that our whole Den, all 4 of them, were promoted to Tiger Cubs. They are turning their focus on the electives and just enjoying their time together doing "boy things."
Keely has started ballet and loves it. The teacher is wonderful doing princess dances which Keely then does at home. She's really gotten into wearing her tutu's and "walking like a ballerina." The consist of her walking on her tip toes hands above her head. She's so funny walking around telling me she dancing like Ariel, The Little Mermaid. During this part the children gracefully tap their toe in front of them as though they have flippers. My little grace does more of a smack the water type of movement. But it's cute all the same. They had their first recital and it was so darn cute! Brought tears to my eyes to see how much she loved being in the spot light. I am in trouble.
Skipping forward to Jace's birthday. I can't believe my little boy turned 7. It's so cliche' but sure feels like yesterday we brought him home. This year he had problems trying to decide what theme he wanted for his party. After giving it lots of thought and still not being able to decide we came up with "Jace's Top 7" We did his top seven favorite activities. He had a great time and I think all his friends did too.
Top 7
7 orange Soda
6 brownie
5 magic
4 stomp rockets
3 science
2 mazes
1 hot wheels
